Today was the first step. I filled out the pre-qualification for the loan. Need to have that done first and foremost. Next I have to go online and thaw my credit reports so they can do a hard pull. Oh well, get ready for my credit to be knocked down a little due to that. I have a place/location in mind and a few houses in mind. The numbers all work, not a ton of money, but the overall returns are good – and good diversification over the next 5 to 10 years. I’m thinking that buying the house will be the easy part. Cleaned out the garage, took the car back home, and dewinterized the motorcycles. Need to change the oil in my Triumphs and bring the 68 Bonneville back home for a top end check up and a registration sticker. So that’s next. The bike is ready to ride, just need a little oil on the chain and find a few trials near Gunstock to ride. I’m thinking of just taking a quick spin up and back while it isn’t raining to get the bike.

The old local rails are all gone. With their demise they’ve left behind a perfectly graded and nearly straight path that cuts through the landside that town after town have been either paving over or packing down allowing for a great resource for running, walking, biking, etc. My town is no different. While our rail is short and currently doesn’t lead very far (they’re working on it!) it is still a great resource and I’ve started enjoying it more and more. Sunday the family decided it would be a good day to go for a hike. By family I mean my wife. I’m up for about anything and our daughter, well, she allows us to drag her along. It started with a sour face but got better as the hike went on. Today we decided to hike up Belknap mountain. Friday night, Memorial Day weekend, and a long hard week it was time to sit around the fire pit and have my ritual cigar and beer. The cigar is a Padron 80th Anniversay. Yeah, I went all out this Friday. The cigar is a favorite of mine. It is quite a strong cigar – not for first time smokers or even season cigar aficionados on an empty stomach! Very smooth, and very little spice on the palate. Highly recommended though. I accompanied it with a new to me beer called Juicy Ass. Juicy Ass is a Canadian craft brew produced by Flying Monkeys.
