Another Great Weekend in the Books

I’m sitting here on my deck, cigar ready, beer in hand and typing this out. Motorcycle week is here and myself and some friends plan on going to the Hill Climb at Gunstock on Wednesday.  Not sure if I’ll stay up at the lake or not.  While I’d like too, it’s in the middle of the week and really does depend on what’s going on at my office. I’ll know more after running the numbers tomorrow and looking at the build/ship schedule. Until then…  I’m going to type out the adventure from today and about the houses I’m going to look at for our first rental / investment purchase.

Why Are We Still Using Realtors?

I’ve got a bone to pick. This has been bugging me for quite some time now.  Exactly why are we still using realtors?  I have found almost no use for them.  Now I bet there are some great people out there…  but I have yet to find one. In today’s age of online searching, photos, heck videos, exact locations, etc.  All a realtor is now is the person with the key to get inside. Of course not knowing where the trails were, I walked into one of the buildings at the mountain about 10 minutes before they closed and a very nice gentleman helped me out.  He explained how the trails were open (I figured I might have had to pay) to anyone.  Basically their winter cross…

    And We’re Approved!

Got the call today that we are approved to make that next, albeit nerve wracking, step towards purchasing an investment property.  We have our eye on one.  Said we would visit it last weekend.  We didn’t.  Maybe I’ll see if it’s still there this Saturday to go see.  If it is, maybe it was meant to be.   Regardless, I’m not out to buy something just to buy something… But I on the other hand I do what to buy something.  Hmmm…   This diversification of my current portfolio is going to lose me money in the short term.  I’ve sold stock to fund this purchase that has been up…

    How to Thaw Your Credit

I froze my credit after the big Equifax hack.  I needed to thaw it temporarily so my bank could run a credit check for my loan since I want to purchase an Investment Property   I tried logging into TransUnion first.  What a cluster F***.  I decided I was going to post links to make it easier to find how to Freeze and thaw your account after spending 5 minutes trying to honestly find where to have this done and not be sold some crap I don’t need.   TransUnion:  https://freeze.transunion.com   (Costs $10 in my state) When you do TransUnion – Be sure to write down your username and password –…
