If you’re like me, you’ve heard of the whiskey sour but probably never had one. Oh and if you enjoy the flavor and feel of sucking on a lemon then this drink is definitely for you! Just three ingredients: 1 part simple syrup 2 parts fresh lemon juice (basically two lemons) 1 1/2 to 2 parts whiskey or bourbon Shake with ice, strain and serve on ice. Enjoy! You can thank me later.

It’s the time of year again: Time for Laconia Bike Week! A group of 5 of us, that turned into just 3 since this was a mid-work week get-a-way, got together so we could go over to Gunstock and see the hill climb. I pulled out my trusty (ok, far from trusty, but completely rebuilt) T120R – 1968 Triumph Bonneville. Not the best bike for long tours, but this was the right distance for this bike. Far enough to stretch her legs, but not so far that I couldn’t get it back simply enough if it all went wrong. The first thing we did was go down…

So there’s a song on the radio by Old Dominion called: Hotel Key and it reminds me of all the hotel keys that we’ve kept over the years. I finally found a purpose for them which allows me to display the destinations we’ve been to but also lets them serve a second purpose. Refrigerator magnets! So simple it’s stupid. Instead of disposing them or leaving them behind, you can…

It’s been a long long time since I’ve last gone. Probably 20 years? Or at least close to it. Last time I shot my over and under I was still in college and still shooting pretty well. I was invited to a private club by a friend and member. Actually he’s been kindly bugging me for a while to go and while I wanted to make it, prior commitments on the particular weekday (Wednesday) kept me from attending. This week he asked again, and this time I was available! I pulled out the trusty Valmet gun I’ve used since I was 16. (not my photos below, but the same gun)…

Since the first trip didn’t go as planned: https://www.missionexploration.com/mountain-biking-at-gunstock-my-first-try/ I had a moment this past Sunday to go back up and try again. Shoes, shorts, helmet, bike and new water bottle… I was good to go. One thing: I forgot the map. Getting lost wasn’t going to stop me and I knew damn well which trail to go on. I wasn’t going to let this one trail get the best of me! So up the hill I went. Oh and it was a hill. I biked up 95% of it (to throw out an arbitrary number that means nothing). Only a few did I get off an walk. I…
